Welcome to Reifenstein Castle

Reifenstein Castle is one of the best preserved and most important castles in South Tyrol in terms of art history. Thanks to the artistry of the Teutonic Knights, the structures dating back to the 13th century and the interior of the castle have been preserved over the centuries. Particularly noteworthy are the Gothic rooms, such as the Green Hall and the parlour in the New Palas, which were designed to an exceptionally high standard on behalf of the Teutonic Order.

The Tyrolean Counts of Thurn und Taxis have worked hard over the last 200 years to preserve the medieval character of Reifenstein Castle. The family is dedicated to preserving the castle and the surrounding grounds and opens its doors to visitors from all over the world.

Sturdy footwear and caution are recommended for the paths to and in the castle, as the medieval knight's castle is not barrier-free.
